Oregon Tech's Diversity Center is intended to be a place of refuge and
refreshment. Its informal atmosphere and colorful decoration are conducive
to both socializing and studying. The programs it sponsors are both fun and
educational. With the firm support of faculty and the tireless energy of OIT
students the DC is fast becoming a valuable resource on campus.
To promote the free exchange of ideas in a safe and oppression free
environment. To provide programs that encourage diversity awareness and
appreciation for human dignity. To listen attentively to the voices of the
student body and address all  relevant issues with patience and impartiality.
At OIT, we are committed to fostering a safe campus for all students, faculty,
and staff by increasing understanding and sensitivity to each other's diverse
backgrounds. Diversity Center staff members are committed to spreading the
awareness of diversity through DC Coffee Hours and DC Special Events.
Numerous Coffee Hours have been held throughout the year, including talks
on Germany, Day of the Dead, Sexual Assault, the Arab World, Martin Luther
King Day, the Safe Zones Project, the Mormon church, and many more. OIT
students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to attend a coffee hour every
Tuesday at 2pm either in the Diversity Center or other announced locations.
As the term wraps up, stay tuned for next year's upcoming events!
